The UK Cash Supply Alliance - the UKCSA - is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to engage with and connect organisations across the cash supply chain with UK government, regulators, trade associations, the retail sector and, most importantly, the British public.
In February 2023, the UKCSA announced it would be supporting the relaunch of the Payment Choice Alliance, a campaigning organisation pursuing the passing into law of a UK Payment Choice Act.

The UK Cash Supply Alliance staged an important event - “Including Cash In The National Payments Vision” - at the offices of sponsors Clyde & Co in Houndsditch in London on 29 May.
An invited audience of 80 were treated to some illuminating presentations, starting with a Key Note from the Legendary Lynne Franks OBE.
Lynne is a great believer in the continuing need for cash in the UK.
Lynne highlighted the specific importance of cash for women, whether as a method of carefully budgeting the family finances or, for several million women in the UK, as a potential route to escape abusive relationships.
Lynne was followed by a formidable line up of speakers: Roel van Anholt from De Nederlandsche Bank; Bas Rodenberg, CEO of Brink’s Inc in Benelux; Richard Talbot from NatWest Alex Crawford and Bill Heer from Vaultex UK Ltd; and Rael Almeleh from Tesco Insurance and Money Services.
Every speaker, whilst giving their often unique personal insights, also emphasised the long-term need for cash - for payments; a means of exchange; and as a store of value.
There were many insightful questions and significant input from the audience, which included luminaries from major banks, building societies, ATM operators, charities, cash management companies, UK Finance Financial Conduct Authority, LINK Scheme Ltd, Cash Access UK and Post Office Ltd.
All present agreed that was an important event, part of a process leading towards a submission by the UK Cash Supply Alliance, possibly in conjunction with like-minded organisations, to the team at HM Treasury, including Roisin Edwards, the Senior Policy Advisor on the National Payments Vision.
A work-stream needs quickly to be set-up to ensure that cash, so important to 40 million plus adults in the UK, is comprehensively included in the National Payments Vision, which is due to be completed by the end of 2025.
Many would argue that National Payments Vision that does not include cash is NOT a National Payments Vision at all….
